They are already linked and being used during online visa application to the Bangkok based database.

But what info is in that database. I suspect it is only for checks that a person is not banned from entering the country.

I do not claim any special knowledge, but I am confused as to why the Immigration Bureau would need access to MFA's system (which as far as I know does not have data on visa applications through embassies/consulates all in one place yet) in order to process a VOA. I am pretty sure this has never been available to immigration when evaluating applications for regular VOAs where the application is checked when you queue up at the airport. All the important information (previous visits to Thailand) is in the Immigration Bureau's system.

It is not like Thai Immigration will be held hostage by their own law.

In many countries, it is called "Being accountable to the law."

But there should be no stopping you from challenging the IO's decision, and I am sure the IO will be most appreciative if you point your understanding of the law to him.

Quoting law to a mugger is likely to result in physical abuse, rather than, "Oh, golly, I thought robbing people at gunpoint was legal.  Sorry about that."

Similar applies in all cases dealing with those who don't respect the law, in any country.  When those who don't respect the law have govt-power, it is even worse.  The only option is to try to avoid such people to the greatest extent possible.  It's why I have a Visa now, instead of an "extension of stay" - and why I enter Thailand exclusively via land-borders where the laws are reported as being followed.

No doubt you know about visa’s but I just renewed my passport and went to extend my non b with my new passport. They had my full history on computer with my old passport . Maybe it will work at consulate to obtain new visa but immigration will see the history

This is not new.  Immigration-computer has the full-history.  Consulates do not.  Maybe they will have access to some immigration-history in the future - but do not presently.

Boy the huge lie that farangs take Thai jobs seems to get repeated endlessly around here....Along with the other favorite lie about farangs getting free health care....

There are a lot of English teachers whose schools delay and delay on the work-permit paperwork - so end up teaching illegally for months at a time.  This, combined with generally low-pay, has resulted in many of Thailand's "English teachers" not being native English speakers any more.  Many of those now teach in Cambodia and Vietnam, where they do not face constant hassles/problems.  The result, is that the young folks in those countries have much better English abilities than those in Thailand.   Solving the problem would be as easy as prosecuting the schools who don't get their teachers the proper paperwork - as it is not hard to find where "illegal English teachers" could be found.

"Dive instructors" is another one - and, yes, probably are - but only because no one bothers to go to the docks and bust them, which would be very easy to do.  It's not hard to find where dive instructors could be found.

I think they prefer to allow these cases to continue, so they can use them as a red-herring to justify screwing with the other 99%.

Anybody attempting to create a new account or make a booking, the Vientiane system is down and has been for most of the day. There is no way to make a booking or create an account at this time.

You'll have to give them 5 years to optimize the software (make it working), same as the on-line 90 day reporting.

The stamp says something like "This guy comes to Thailand a lot. Maybe don't give him another visa."

They know that you work here illegally.

A new PP will show your name, DOB and nationality that is already in the imm. system.
