20TH CENTURY FOX

A classic episode of The Simpsons starring Michael Jackson has been pulled from air following allegations of child sexual abuse in documentary film Leaving Neverland.

In the wake of Leaving Neverland's "brutal" and "chilling" claims, The Simpsons' long-time executive producer James L Brooks has confirmed that the episode featuring the star will no longer be circulated.

Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, Brooks said that erasing the episode from schedules "feels clearly the only choice to make".

"I'm against book burning of any kind," Brooks continued, "but this is our book, and we're allowed to take out a chapter."

Fortunately, there are at least 3 episodes that explore the Catholic Church and molestation of children, if someone considers that entertainment.

Apparently MJ's legacy is more important in the Hollyworld universe.

I just watched the episode in question. In the context of the episode, homer meets a guy in a mental hospital who thinks he is MJ and later admits he is just pretending to be. Thats it, nothing about paedophilia etc. The episode has more "one flew over the cookoos nest" references than anything else. The episode probably shows that in 1991, MJ was liked by everyone, as no crazy/paedophile stuff yet.

I cant see why they would pull the episode over the neverland doco, true or not true the episode has nothing to do with it.

Some sort of orwellian exercise to erase that MJ ever existed maybe.

I like that bit about their book and being allowed to take out a chapter. Christian Church did the same. Taking out and not allowed in are pretty much the same. Good going Simpsons. After all, What Would Homer Do ?
