Ministry of foreign affairs - Inheritance

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm just looking for a little advice on behalf of a friend (thai) of my wife. I live in the UK.

She got married 3 years ago to a UK national. Tragically, a few months after they married in died in an accident in the UK. She was still living in Thailand at the time.

There has been a lengthy probate period 2.5 years so far. The UK lawyer has now stated that the final paperwork needs to be attested at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok. (they had previously been notorised by a lawyer in Thailand)

As anyone had any experience on getting documents signed there? Is it straightforward, expensive etc.

Many Thanks
