No.

Besides Premchai was out on bail.

He has since been convicted so why should he be allowed bail?

I disagree, the illegal loggers did get bail before their conviction.

Have you never heard of the appeals process?  His case is not over yet and that happens all over the world.

Your right it could have been much, much, worse. if he had been caught smoking on the beach.

  • Surely he will be on a flight out the country within hours and then unable to return due to illness.

Multiple appeals?  He can only appeal once to the appellate court and once to the Supreme Court, that's two, hardly what is normally understood to be "multiple".

True, but how many times can he not appear due to..mmm being sick, grandmother not well, water buffalo dying, being ordained etc.. we have seen this all before, my guess also, he has been "sentenced" only for the public to be shown the rich can be sentenced, especially just be an election.. his mate, the judges/pollies, will make sure that and court appearance will be many years down the track...hell little rich Red Bull dick is still running around, with little, if any, attempt is being made to arrest him.

None.  In this case, not one of those reasons have been used and neither has he used illness as a reason to cause delays.  He did have his lawyer appear on his behalf once when he couldn't be there, as allowed by the court.

"hell little rich Red Bull dick is still running around, with little, if any, attempt is being made to arrest him".

What's that got to do with Premchai's case?

By the way, Premchai is in Thailand where the RTP have jurisdiction, Vorayuth is not, maybe you could explain how the RTP could be expected to arrest Vorayuth in those circumstances?

quote from the Thai PBS article

The court also ordered Prem and three other defendants to pay about two million baht in compensation to the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation.
Thungyai Narusuan Wildlife Sanctuary chief Wichien Chinnawong said, after the court’s verdict was read, that he was satisfied with the sentence, adding that justice has been served. He also praised the judges for doing a great job and said that the verdict shows that the rich and powerful are not beyond the reach of the law.
Premchai’s lawyer is preparing to seek bail for Premchai, with the bail being set at 600,000 baht.
The Italian-Thai boss is yet to make a public statement following the verdict.

No mention of taking any or all of his passports away to stop him flying away.

You know the court left him a way to avoid doing time. If he does, by some wild fluke, end up in detention it will be  in a palatial detention center which will probably be stocked with exotic animals for him to practice his hunting techniques.

Of course they will.

A pleasant thought for me is that someday wild animals will learn how to shoot a gun and be allowed into his detention centre, along with some cooking pots.

But the fat dork got out on a 500,000 bail, tip money for him, can't even have a decent poaching weekend for that money! DESPICABLE! 'Justice' making itself ridiculous case after case, anyone wondering why Thais don't care a yo about rules and laws...?!
