Unknown Asian Man Found Drowned at Jomtien

On the 2nd of March at 2.15am Dongtan Police were called to the scene of a death at Jomtien Beach near Soi 5.

Upon arrival Police blocked off the area to investigate a man’s body found on the beach. It is believed the man is around 40 years old. He was laying face down on the beach and wearing only short pants, without any ID on his possession.

From a preliminary investigation, the deceased may be from an Asian country. However, the body was sent for autopsy to ascertain the cause of death.

Unidentified body discovered on Jomtien Beach.

At 2am on Friday, Police Major Saitar from Dongtan Police Sub-Station on Jomtien Beach was called to an area opposite Soi 5 on the Jomtien Beach Road after passers-by reported a body of a foreign man on the beach. The man, wearing only shorts was not carrying any forms of ID and had only 30 Baht in his pocket.

Initial inspections of the body found no visible signs of trauma and Police were unsure if the body was that of a foreign man or if he was of Thai origin.

The body has now been sent to a forensic lab to determine the exact cause of death and Police are appealing for witnesses. If you can help, please call Pattaya Police Station on 038 303 303-4.
