What's the best insurance for a house? Any company recommendation? What are the coverage (fire, storm, flooding, etc) one should buy for a house in Pattaya. The house is approx. 2.4 million and furniture extension is around another 600K. How much insurance should I buy. It is in a gated community. 

I would recommend MSIG, we use them, 3 years ago 5 days after insurance started, there was a storm here.

I contacted them, claim submitted, they paid out no problem, never sent anybody, just accepted my photos, before and after repairs.

I would suggest going to an agent or 2 and asking them to suggest policies and then trying to get hold of the English Ts and Cs to make sure they cover what you want.

 

If you want cover for personal items over a certain value you may have to specify them individually. You can also pay extra for personal effects outside the home and 3rd party liability if you think you need it.
