Popular Post Kalasin Jo
As a Brit whatever you may think of Brexit, one thing is clear : if you are dependant on £ sterling income be it pension or investment, even salary or wages, and you need to send it to Thailand you have been hit, as I have, by the dramatic fall in £ sterling on the money markets since June 2016. It's not just a matter of a strong baht. The £ has fallen around 20% against all but the most tinpot currencies. If someone has posted this before, I do not apologize. It's worth saying again. There is a UK public Parliamentary petition to revoke the Art. 50 notice to quit the EU. It has in just a few days gained enormous traction in the UK and with overseas UK citizens. The largest ever petition, now standing as I write this at over 5,730,500 signatories. Yes that's close to 6 million now, mostly UK signatures. It is all over UK news. MPs and Parliament ARE taking notice, but sadly not the PM nor her closest political friends, such as she has left. The Usual Suspects. There are only days to go before a default no deal exit will kick in if nothing else is agreed. That would be catastrophic for the £. So, if you are a UK citizen and haven't signed the petition, please do so!. It may well help save your UK arising income from further devaluation. The £ might even go up! The link to do so is here petition.parliament.uk/petitions/241584 You do not have to be UK resident. In the country "box" use the drop down menu arrow on the right in the box to select Thailand then put in your Thai postcode in the postcode box. Click 'sign the petiition'. Shortly after you will receive an email from Parliament Petitions ( check your spam folder if it is not in you inbox ). Click on the link in the email to confirm your signature. It's done. JUST. DO. IT! And share the link far and wide! 5 1 2 6 Link to comment

As for the 6 million signatures ha ha, most were signed by cyberbots or people outside the UK. Rubbish. (98% UK signatures) Brits do live permanently in the EU too, about 1.5 million of them. They also work overseas, or are stationed overseas in our armed forces, the world over. Check the Parliamentary Petitions website for stats. Why are expats who have been out of the UK a long time so anti EU ? Is it an Empire syndrome thing? Long gone matey and not coming back whatever happens. 5 1 1 Link to comment

Popular Post Guderian
If the OP is so concerned about the matter then the proper way to express his views and concerns under the British constitution is via his elected representative in Parliament, not some dodgy online petition that has no purpose other than to (possibly) trigger a debate on the matter with no legal force whatsoever. I'm assuming, of course, that the OP is registered as an Overseas Voter and so actually has an elected representative in Parliament, but being so concerned about British current affairs and politics he's bound to be isn't he? 12 Link to comment
Popular Post Irishrogue
The majority in the country voted to leave now all the moaners want to circumvent the democratic process. 6 million is less than 10% of the population. It is a sad fact that "Those who shout loudest are heard first" and one might assume that the 6 million are made up in large part by people from other countries or Corben and his communist friends. 11 Link to comment

A Democracy is not a Democracy if you cannot change your mind. 5 days to reach 6 million and the petition can reach 17.4 Million in 3 weeks. Leave petition has been running much longer and only has 400,000 votes. Edited March 28, 2019 by Estrada 1 1 2 1 Link to comment
