Siamwhiteelephant Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 I need a visa to tide me over between teaching contracts during this long school holiday period. I’ve read the relevant visa info. but my situation is complicated in that I didn't obtain a work permit and haven't yet any new teaching job lined up for the next academic year. The teachers’ agency I was contracted with failed to process documentation for my work permit last semester, despite the co-operation of the government school I’d taught at and no ‘roadblocks’. I had obtained a new 90-day Non-Immigrant B visa, which expires on Monday. I completed the contract but the agency hasn’t had its contract renewed with the school for the next academic year. I don’t want to continue with the agency, because of unpaid salary, etc. and I can’t obtain a new contract directly with the school. Last November, I had to obtain a 30-day visa through a border run to Cambodia to tide me over to getting the Non-Immigrant B. I'm from an NES country. I think I could get only one more 30-day visa there (unless the two times visa applies to this calendar year), but it’d still be insufficient to tide me over.
KarlS Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Your options depend on which countries passport you hold
ubonjoe Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 You can get 2 visa exempt entries at land border crossings this year if needed. It is 2 per calendar year. You can also get a 30 day extension of your visa exempt entry at immigration for a fee of 1900 baht.
Siamwhiteelephant Posted March 27, 2019 Author Posted March 27, 2019 This info. clarifies it all, thanks. I appreciate your help a lot.
