BANGKOK, 2 April 2019 (NNT) - Many people have visited the Bangkok Motorshow event at Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi, as well as the National Book Fair at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok where millions of international books are sold.

The National Book Fair this year is being held for the 47th time, and being held along with the 17th Bangkok International Book Fair, by the Thai Writers Association and the Publishers and Booksellers Association of Thailand.

The event this year is being held with a theme of “love the readers,” featuring sales of new and old books from some 300 publishers around the world at special prices and with promotional offers and delivery services for external orders.

The fair has received considerable attention from readers over the weekend, with families taking their children to participate in event’s activities.

The best selling books in this fair are books for youth, while the most popular genres are Chinese books, historical books, Thai literature, Chinese literature and cartoons.

Book lovers still have until 7 April 2019 to visit the book fair at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. The fair next year will be relocated to Challenger Hall, Muang Thing Thani, Nonthaburi during the 3-year renovation of the old venue.

Another big event taking place this week is the 40th Bangkok International Motor Show at IMPACT Challenger exhibition center in Nonthaburi, held under the theme of “Enjoyment of Automobiles” from 27 March to 7 April 2019.

Many people have visited the event this past weekend to see concept cars and some 10 new car models presented by various brands. The exhibited vehicles include electric vehicles, hybrid cars and plug-in hybrid cars, which is in line with the government’s push for Thailand to become a future leader in electric vehicles.

somehow I doubt there is much happening at the book fair.  Thais don't read and books sold at twice the cover price is simply a rip-off.

the motor show, on the other hand with the coyotes and pretties.....................

Re: Post No. 2 above which says: "somehow I doubt there is much happening at the book fair.  Thais don't read and books sold at twice the cover price is simply a rip-off."

I suggest you go to the book fair to check your ill-informed statement....I think it lasts for 7 or 10 days and is absolutely mobbed.  And the books are priced less than equivalent UK books.
