April 7, 20196 yr Maybe having less “true” friends as we get older is part of the maturing / ageing process. Definitely when I was in my 20’s I had more “buddies” to do things with but maybe that was all we had in common: doing things together socially- not being able to discus things philosophically or topics in depth. I know as I am now over 60 yr my social life & interests are different than 20...30 years ago & I no longer am upset if I have a quiet evening alone. And as we get older, our “radar” is more tuned in who can be trusted or not trusted; who is authentic or who is full of BS. Finding a true friend is difficult but not an unusual challenge.
