Damage to the environment, damage to a beloved city, damage to work ethic, damage to your honor then science and knowledge  ALWAYS SHOULD COME FIRST BEFORE DAMAGE TO POCKETS!

damage to tourism(crying)! laughing out loud!..there won't be a beach  left  in 10 years while only worrying about damage to tourism! if you don't get your act together and save your beach soon, there won't be any tourism left or beach!

Surely some large outfall pipes buried under from Beach Road extended out beyond the Beach would be the answer,

What about getting some real engineers from Holland

That's a ridiculous suggestion!!!   If the problem was solved, that would close down avenues for further corruption!!   As long as there's 'work in progress', there's a revenue stream for the corrupt officials.

If you are that bothered by this and are wedded to the environment, then you will be happy for the sea to do what it wants and if the beach goes in 10 years, then so be it, it's just nature doing its job. That thinking works for me.

i was down beach road this morning from soi 7 to walking street and it was deserted very little chinese and thais sitting looking totally fed up so it is having a big effect for sure with the condition of the beach craters everywhere maybe they need advice from people who know about this issue.

all they need ist surely not more sand (to be washed away again) but a busload full of good head shrinkers to take care of the tourists professionally - they shouldn't be too sad about a lost holiday and a non-existing nice beach...

Again that project has been completed and failed. See topic below: World class Pattaya lovely new beach missing... My post page 7 #103 with photos and link to 2015 project.

Call the Dutch, they know what to do.

Honestly , what is the point of trying to create a beach which leads down to a sea of filth / sewer .

They need this guy as the present PM can't manage to do it:-

"The first main thing to do, he said, was to sort out drainage problems in the city and on beach road so that flood water flows where it is meant to go - and not all over the beach".

Hey, the man is on the right spot so do not blame him. Maybe his next thought would be, "how in a h**l can some sand and about 20 labors for a year cost 400 million baht".

Bit hard on morons there......

No one cares. Chinese and indians take the speed boats. Most people use the broadwalk.

Who the hell needs this beautiful beach? Firm it up and make a big parking spot for tour busses out of it.

Turn the whole thing into a massive Plaza type area with some Eateries, bars and sitting areas Etc

A sure winner

I don't know. Does anybody go to Pattaya for the beach? The water is disgusting. You are likely to be hit by a boat or jet ski or get scammed if you do hire one. This whole exercise is just putting lipstick on a pig.

Russians do. I see them every day from my balkony enjoying the nice and clear water. They must be invunerable.

Do they really think that people come to Pattaya for their 'beautiful' beach? ????

If all the pussy got washed out to the sea, that would be a real problem for the city.

With the 7th fleet in town pussy will be getting a good hosing this weekend.

Pattaya Beach crisis: "Very concerning and potential damage to tourism"

Crisis on Pattaya beach seems to never come to an end - if its not Russians and street dogs banging on the beach that destroy the image then it is the mother earth stealing the whole beach were none of them are changeable ....  :whistling:

FIRST TIME I heard them say they need to fix the drainage.

That should have been done before the first grain of sand was moved for the 400 M BHAT beach project and that is not the first time the beach has been worked on.

They only mention drainage on Beach Road.

The drains need to be cleaned from the Beach, all thru Sukhumvit, all the way thru the dark side and all the way back to Route 36.

Anything less than that is only cutting the tail off the snake.

I was in this type of business my whole 47 yr working career.

You actually expect Thais to plan ?

The only planning that went into this was the extra profit from doing the job twice. 400M to do a beach????!!!!

3. Safe driving - the art of braking.

Well as far as driving is concerned the specialist Thai training they are obviously well qualified in are their specialist subjects:-

1) Parking like a <deleted>.

Are you suggesting building on the water side of beach Rd and forgetting the sand idea. The flooding problems are a lot to do with the rest of the building that has gone on, to then block off the sea might just exacerbate the flooding.

unfortunately they have real engineers but they are told what to do by idiots and to speak up means no job so keep quiet stand back and watch all the fun unfold .its a fault with thai society the wrong people in charge .
