"Big Joke" removed from post of immigration boss

Featured Replies

(I searched a few minutes in the forum, if it's already in the news just close)

Surachet Hakphan ("Big Joke") will be moved to police headquarters.

His Facebook profile is closed.

Source is in Thai and from a reliable member of a German language forum.

No hard facts yet except that he didn't appear for the usual photo op's etc.

Developing story.

Or maybe on second thoughts his policy of good guys in, bad guys out has back fired ?  Let's face it is the bad guys, the boiler room scammers, retirement visa agents and general criminals that were perhaps wealthy enough to pay the biggest bribes, whereas the good guys amongst us could not.  This has hit the pocket far up the RTP tree perhaps so a new man needs to be brought in who will reverse that policy.

So the next phase could well be "Bad guys in, good guys out" ????

Yeah I heard about this a few hours back. It's apparently being reported on Thai news on the radio. Not 100% confirmed though by the looks of things. It's here but all in Thai:

Spot on. Bad guys have the money, have the contacts, the non-morals to get past this. Whereas some people who do a lot of good, may not have the financial resources, so get penalized.

Facebook, instagram, twitter all show some "not exist" messages.

and those that do a lot of good and also have the money have been sidelining it and making serious 'plan b' enquiries until the situation calms down/improves

Misc. sources say there was an "express notice" about his move.

Just that a copy of that has not been made public.

(remember it's a long weekend)

He gets far more media publicity than PM Prayut. Perhaps he has stepped on the biggest toes of all.

Not a smart move to outshine the PM in the media exposure stakes.
