SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said his country needs to deliver a "serious blow" to those imposing sanctions through a self-reliant economy, North Korean state media Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said on Thursday.

KCNA said Kim stated North Korea's position on the second U.S.-North Korea summit that took place recently, saying, "We must deal a serious blow to the hostile forces who are mistakenly determined to bring us down with sanctions by advancing the socialist construction to a high level of self-reliance that fits our circumstances and state, based on our own power, technology and resources."

North Korea is expected to convene a session of its legislature, the Supreme People's Assembly, on Thursday, while U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to hold a summit with South Korean President Moon Jae-in later on Thursday.

Maybe unlike Trump, Xi and Kim actually read the ghost-written The Art of the Deal.  :-)

Good luck with that. Sanctions stay and nothing changed because Kim was lucky enough to be in Trump's presence. So I am not sure how Trump got played he didn't concede anything other than Kim got a field trip out of insanity land. Must suck going home when you have seen what real countries like Singapore have.

What did Kim get other than a shopping trip? Now he is safe and sound back in North Korea and he will never be able to leave NK again.

Like Trump cares what the world thinks. The "world" over values their own opinions.

The art of the deal.

Okay there  are a lot of us Americans that don't care. To each their own.

1. Kim is upset that he/Pyongyang isn't getting it's MacDonalds?

2. Resurrecting the tried and tested "make threats and noises until they give us cash and aid" process? It has worked well for the last two generations of the Kim dynasty.

Kim effectively got sanctions eased from Russia and China. Russia and China repeatedly cited Trump's statement that "North Korea is no longer a nuclear threat" to question the reasoning behind the sanctions.

So tell me, do you agree that North Korea is no longer a nuclear threat?

I'm an American and don't care what the world thinks.

How did that attitude work out for George W. Bush?

On behalf of the world, I couldn't care less what you think.

While he may have taken some tips on how to run a family dictatorship under the guise of a democracy, I doubt if he really cares how the country is run.  In fact, he probably thought Sentosa was a poorer version of his own private island.  However, if they had have brought a bunch of normal North Korean citizens along, then some serious comparisons between countries may have begun.

In the words of Dennis Rodman:

"It's like going to Hawaii or Ibiza, but he's the only one that lives there.  He's got 50 to 60 [people] around him all the time - just normal people, drinking cocktails and laughing the whole time.  If you drink a bottle of tequila, it's the best tequila.  Everything you want, he has the best."

Trump gave a tin pot dictator world relevance and enhanced his status alone by meeting him, telling the world how smart Kim was and treating him like an equal, all that cost Kim was a flight to Singapore. Has he given up his nuclear ambitions ? no, does he intend to in the future ? no. he would be a fool to do so, America only respects force, not good intentions.

Under Obama and early in trumps presidency Kim was test launching medium range icbm’s (most of which crashed on ignition ) and flying missiles over japan.
Now he’s not. [emoji736]
Before trump summits north and south were not having bilateral negotiations.
Now they are. [emoji736]

Trump was a victim of his ego and mistakenly sat down and negotiated with Kim who will always be a lap dog of China.  A total waste of time. The only thing Kim will understand is a missile up the ying yang:)

That's rather ridiculous when the nation has long been a destination for refugees as well as providing huge amounts of foreign aid.  No question the u.s. is part of a system that often lends itself to exploiting other's resources but that is the problem with capitalism not the usa.

Orange man speak with forked tongue to man with pudding basin haircut it looks like war????

There are intelligent well educated Americans out there and then there are the Trump supporters.

Trump has, and continues to, focus his verbal diarhoeaa on the more ignorant, less educated end of the American public.  If these sheep are content to see their hard fought for, long held values eroded and belittled by this orange buffoon, then this is clearly what they deserve.

Any respect I ever had for America and the office of the president was destroyed within his first 6 months.

How anyone with half a brain can not see this idiot for what he is: an insecure little man with deeply held racist beliefs who has brought more sleaze to the government than could have been thought possible, is beyond me.

Back on point, Kim has gotten far more out of Trumps love affair with "Rocket Man" than Trump has and because of this, America has lost an awful lot of respect (and fear) throughout the world.

Trump achieved nothing but the ability to increasingly isolate the US from once traditional allies.

World leaders are surely mocking the hell out of him behind closed doors.

Here we go again with round two of the Kim/Trump war of words (aka name calling and threatening).

Anybody but a die-hard Trump supporter recognized that these two summits would both fizzle out like a Kim rocket or a Trump threat.

Most knew that Kim controlled "the art of the deal". Donald, you've been out smarted, again.

Saminoz are you one of the well educated Americans? I guess I am one of the uneducated but I I can manage to spell diarrhea correctly, between you and Tug you can write your own dictionary.

i really love being called ignorant and uneducated by the likes of you. What a moronic post!

Give them a break. Their spell correctors were switched off. Just like Trumps brain is switched off 99.1% of the time. Same for his dwindling supporters who attend those fake rallies and egg him on.
