No deaths in the first day of Songkran ‘seven days of danger’ in Phuket

As reports are tallied for the first full day (April 11) of the ‘Seven Days of Danger’ Songkran road and marine safety campaign, no deaths were reported but five people were injured on the island.

Phuket Airport readies for Songkran rush

PHUKET: The chief of Phuket International Airport (PIA) has asked travellers to allow up to three hours for their journey to make sure they catch their flights during the Songkran festivities, which start in earnest tomorrow (Apr 13).

TDRI slams junta for helping mobile operators at taxpayers’ expense

Opening day for Songkran road carnage sees 46 killed

Thursday – the first of the “seven dangerous days” of Songkran 2019 – saw 46 people killed and 482 injured in 468 road accidents, Transport Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisith told reporters at the Road Safety Centre in Bangkok on Friday.
