Hi,

Can I apply an o-a visa retirement at my home country while still having a valid unexpired o-a extension already or Do i need to wait till my extension expires first before applying ?

 Thanks for the replies .

No problem to apply for a new OA visa before your extension of stay based upon retirement ends. Your extension becomes invalid as soon as you leave the country.

Hi ubonjoe,

Thanks for your reply.

I do have a multiple entry permit with my existing extension expiring April 10; 2020 .

So if I return to Thailand say March 15 2020 after I obtain my new o-a retirement visa ,  Thai immigration will use my new 1 year visa , giving me a 1 year expiration from my entry to the kingdom say March 14 2021 versus using my previous extension expiration April 10 th 2020 which has not expired yet .

thanks  again for your help.

You would need to be sure you put your visa number on the TM6 arrival card.

The officer will use the OA visa for entry since it would allow a longer stay than the re-entry permit.
