Indian hospitalized after walking into glass door in Pattaya

It is very simple to put something on the glass.

Used to use "Awareness" strips 50mm opaque dots on automatic doors.

Also UK building regs, the glass would have to be safety or laminated in doors.

Common sense really, pity in Thailand cost comes before safety.

I stayed at a hotel in CM this past December. Bathroom was accessed from the balcony...somewhat open air.  Sliding glass door to get to balcony.  Woke up in middle of night to pee....pulled the drapes to the side..and still half asleep..didn't notice the glass slider...head first ..nice head bump...glass didn't break.

At my wardrobe I have sliding doors with mirror glass. I always wanted to replace them with mirrors that are laminated or tempered mirror glass. So far I couldn't find this here in Pattaya. Anybody an idea where I could get it.?

Double glazing shops.

I have tinted/ reflective glass and no likelihood of my walking into it, although the birds seem to fly into it a lot.

I think getting up from the bar stool and walking is enemy #1.    ????

I learnt very quickly "do not get off your stool while the bar is in motion"

Why are there no safety standards enforced here regarding glass doors.

The glass should either be tempered, or laminated, either of which would have prevented these injuries.

And should also come with warning signs. Do not walk through. Or glass door, walk around ????

wow... the permutations are endlesss here, in alternate time lines!

  - go to the 'ummm open' doorway, to pee pee out onto the balcony...  get warm wet fuzzy feelings over shins and feet from the splashback. At least your head would have been saved.

anyways, trying to think of best signage for a glass door?

 - what about a big splootch of red paint

Probably because this is not Germany or Switzerland where there is money available for such things . If it were is would be far too expensive for chearskate tourists like . So stop yer whinging .
