Unfair compassions, Aussie cops rarely use their guns,

Aussie cops also aren't delicate little snowflakes who get scared at every little thing that happens and shoot first, create evidence later. American cops tend to be much more trigger-happy, and all shootings get investigated by other cops, not independent bodies. The Minnesota case is the exception, not the rule, and notice the cop wasn't white?

Unfair compassions, Aussie cops rarely use their guns, the'ye under strict orders not to resort to extreme measures even if the situations calls for it and example in the siege at the Lindt cafe where even the chief sniper asked for permission over and over again to take the shot that will end the mayhem and catastrophe and possible loss of life but was denied time and time again, and this is only one example out of many where the use of firearm was necessary but lives were lost because of this policy...

What is unfair about stating a fact? You don't accept twelve times more likely does not indicate a systemic problem? The issue of decision-making in a hostage environment is a red herring. This was not a hostage situation, it was an unarmed woman in a nightgown approaching a police vehicle , and being murdered by a trigger-happy cop.

Practical solutions. Rubber bullets, bean bag bullets, capsicum spray. At least then innocent people may be injured, not killed.

Personally, I would hate to live in a society that thinks guns are the solution to everything, and accepted dogma is shoot first and ask questions afterwards.
