There is zero upside to 40 plus degrees for what seems like an eternity here in Nakhon Sawan.

Apparently this time of year in 2013 was just like this.  That was 6 years ago.  I arrived to live here in December 2013 so I am glad to say I missed that.   One of my American friends was living here then and says it was just like this.    My desire to "go home" to a temperate climate with my Thai wife next month to live seems well timed (Well 3 - 4 months late, actually.   This is not making either of us think our plans to move to the other "home-country" is a bad move.

I sometimes wonder how the hot cold dry wet year cycles here fit into the Southern el Nino, - la Nina cycle.  It sort of ruins on a 6-7 year cycle, if I remember correctly.  I wouldn't mind betting there is a connection.

I do remember one week day in Bangkok in early February about 1999 -2001 with all the Thais wearing  "Mr Michelin" ski jackets.   I was getting lots of strange looks in my usual short sleeved shirts and shorts, sandals etc.

Suppose nobody noticed the Campbells soup in the background ?

I like to go commando in this weather but it could be dodgy if this beauty was near me

Less clothes to buy.

And after a lifetime of working outside in all weathers (England), I promised myself that I would never complain that it was ever too hot when I retired to warmer climes.

I could not agree more, working on farms in the UK milking cows in -10c, walking to work 3 miles in snow, could not drive the motorbike, sliding 20 yards down a hill after coming off said bike, black ice gritters had not yet gritted the road, happed twice, once  Christmas morning .comeing home after feeding the cattle .

So,39c does not seem so bad.

My friend has reported that is has been hotter for longer than usual in Nakhon Sawan, so I shall look forward to experiencing that when I fully retire next year. It's only 8c here in Manchester UK today - one of the coldest May days on record.
