I had what I felt was a poor eye exam in Bangkok many years ago. I since made a point to only do exams back home in the states.

I feel I would like to give them another shot though. Do you guys have some recommended docs?

One thing I like, whether it is only peace of mind I do not know, is the actual piece of equipment the doc uses to get your prescription. The last guy I used he just held up the test optics in front of my eye with his hand. Seems it should do the job but it made me feel uneasy about the doc's efficacy.

I do not really care about paying more by the way.

Thank you!!

Rutnin Eye Hospital near Asoke. It is the place to go for full eye examination. You will not be disappointed. You will be given a series of tests, followed by a doctor review and consultation of the results.

+ to Rutnin  very thorough. This is a hospital that does nothing but eyes.

Filling prescription there (or anywhere in Thailand) will be costly though.

many people use Zenni (?spelling

/0 online for that.

Worth saying is Rutnin has been operating as clinic and now hospital for over 50 years and has always been considered the to go place for eye care.  My first visit was more than 40 years ago and although I now use a local hospital facilities for normal care still consider it the best.  All hospitals will have good and maybe not so good doctors for eye care but few will want to spend much time for prescription testing in my experience so strongly believe that would be your best choice.  They also have a glasses department but as always you are free to do as you please with prescription.   I also highly recommend Zenni Optical on web for ordering glasses.

Thank you everyone.

Will all of the doctors have the equipment below? If not, is there a doctor or two there you could recommend where they use that piece of equipment. Thank you!
