Which drink is "healthy"?

This is where our opinions differ, so will leave it at that, I will stay open minded unless there is better source or proof available.

Lol, why wont you provide a reputable source to back up your claim that its a healthy salt?

Do you honestly believe that radioactive isotopes are suddenly healthy in pink salt, just because they were not "added"?

What do you consider a reputable source? I ask as note that you believe Doctors are not paid for drug salespersons therefore our views are going to differ and the last thing I want to do is get into a pointless argument ????

This "conversation" started off with me asking you for the facts on why Himalaya salt was so bad, now your asking me to prove that it is a healthy salt! I believe, & I am open minded that Himalaya salt is "probably" a better alternative than processed salt, so far my opinion hasn't been changed by one article written by a retired MD.

I'm sure you are well aware that Iodine, which we are told should be added or in salt is a radioactive isotope?

I had the same problem until @Wavehunter pointed me to Iherb where they had a powder with only 10 calories for a liter of water (ok i double up so that is 20). It helped my diet a lot.

Ingredients:
Calcium Carbonate
Magnesium hydroxide, magnesium carbonate
Manganese gluconate
Chromium aspartate
Potassium bicarbonate, potassium carbonate
Stevia leaf extract
Other: Citric acid, malic acid, tapioca maltodextrin and natural flavor

Maltodextrin spike insulin, not sure what the other chemicals do!

I have recently found on fb there is a company in Bkk giving workshops in Bkk how to craft your own sodas; that would be healthy.

i felt pretty interested, but unfortunately till now, they are given them just in thai language.

I have sent them a message saying that in case they give workshop in english I will like to participate. They have replied in english, so I think they just need more public.

Here is the link http://castownsoda.com/

Also they produce their own sodas that they deliver.

Yes, I am asking you to provide a source for your initial claim, what is it that you find incredulous about that?

I posted a source for mine as requested, you choose to dismiss it on the basis that medical doctors are big pharma employees. Perhaps you genuinely cant see the irrelevance to big pharma in pointing out the contaminants in pink salt, they dont sell salt, so they have nothing to gain from exposing the pink salt scam.

As for iodine, you havent a clue, its number 53 on the periodic table, a stable halogen.  The radioactive elements are numbers 84 to 118, several of which are found in pink salt, some at levels far in excess of WHO determined safe levels.

Have we identified the problem here, is it reading comprehension difficulty?

You certainly shouldn't drink an electrlyte sollution like water, you'll overload your kidneys, they are meant to be drunk when dehydrated, not to flavour water, the malto dextrine is in there to help counter the insulin resistance that dehydration causes resulting in further dehydration, the insulin spike helps reset that spiral.

Soda water with lemon/lime.

That sounds good, but when you say soda water with Lemon/lime, in what form?

Do you mean squeezing a lemon or lime juice into it?

Yes, plain soda water (ice-cold) and squeezing a lemon or lime.

You just told us that iodine is a radioactive isotope and you have the gall to imply that I am the ignorant one?  Get a grip.

what I do is 6 brazils and 6 Dates

all into the Bamix,

 that's plenty full of water

BRRRRZZZZZZT for acoupla minutes

keep it in the bamix cannister, and in the fridge

Drink the lot over 2 days

If you sift thru various discussions on it, they all say to sift out the pulp and whatever other almost solids, to discard

Nah!   I keep it all together in the mix

Just remember to give a good shake every time one drinks it

(separates just like good old full cream milk straight from the cow)

Other advantage to Bamixing it is that I am not going to break anymore teeth!

still alive, so i assume I havn't overdosed myself ...yet

Every time I meet with friends or people at a local pub/restaurant, I am faced with the same

Water is NOT for drink.

Water is like rice.

Rice is no food, for me,

unless topping added.

I am the same as you, no alcohol.

And no drinking plain water either.

Some members already said, add a slice lemon.

That is what I do too. Not just a slice, half a citrus it is.

You can check for chrysanthemum drink (keak khueay).

A yellow drink, mostly in companion with another red and blue drink.

I say check: sometimes they make this without sugar but many mix it

with a lot of sugar like the red drink which is a sugarbomb.

Same with lemongrass drink, sometimes no sugar.

Try make your own drink with tea, iced and mixed with mint.

Take it to the pub, if they complain, reason 'special diet'.

Restaurant hardly a problem take your drink, you are eating their

food anyway.

I am also a type 2 diabetic and have discovered that mulberry tea lowers my blood sugar dramatically.  It is readily available at Tesco, big C etc. and I enjoy it hot or iced.

Its also readily available in many Thai gardens, its the leaves in the tea by the way, another which is supposed to be very good for the same and also freely available by picking, is acerola, also known as the vitamin c tree.

You have to look at the dosage.. 10calories.. so the insulin spike would be minimal.

I make a big jug of tea (1 liter) first thing in the morning. 2 Tea bags ("Heladiv" from Sri Lanka - much cheaper than "Liptons") and when it cools put it in the fridge. Come the afternoon/ evening a lovely refreshing drink.

Who sells the Heladiv?

Big C have it - it is in a yellow box, easily mistaken for Lipton's.

No drink can be a replacement for water !!!! Especially for you.

Tea, Coffee, etc. are made of a little bit of the taste maker and a lot of water.
Why would that be bad, if I don't add sugar or anything unhealthy?

A friend of mine has at home a device to make his own Soda.
The device turns normal water into water with bubbles.
He brought it from Belgium.
Didn't see anything alike in Thailand.

I had a Sodastream in the 1970s, makes soda drinks, a fad that died out

It was long assumed that tea was not as effective a hydrator due to its slight diuretic effect, however recent studied have demonstrated tes to be jusr as effective and may actially be the healthier option as it contains some other beneficial elements.

Coffee is a different story, it makes your heart rate increase, limits REM sleep patterns, and plays havoc on the digestive system, it is in no way as healthy as water or tea and should be limited, whereas tea can be drunk exclusively in place of water.
