I know this is a long shot, but perhaps a new beach would help?

I wonder how much of that will actually find its way to fixing the problem, and how much will simply boost the bank accounts of those involved?

  • The Indians will feel at home it'll be just like swimming in the Ganges.

  • Give them a break, they are working on it!

Is there actually a treatment plant to repair? Did it ever work? I can't have my car repaired. I don't own a car.

I don't believe Jomtiem has one, never mind substantially further south. Historically all big buildings simply channeled waste water seaward, private houses had seep aways and cess type pits. You can see the same type of black dirty water entering the sea not far from the Thrappaya- Beach Rd junction from many of the condos overlooking there, although I suspect it happens when they have released it a little bit early rather than under the cover of darkness.

To Thais, this kind of disarray ( things falling apart ) is normal and it doesn’t bother them. The city officials never walk around the city unless it is a five minute photo opt. They cruise around in their SUV’s or BMW’s between city hall and their 5 million baht secured home.

Those viaducts are for fresh water but they did have running water for indoor toilettes but no waste water treatment either.
