A good step would be to stop importing so much Palm oil from Malaysia. The Thai domestic consumption is not great and importing the oil leads to a surplus; thus dropping the price at the factory gate.

A while ago the Prime Minister complained about the over production of rubber which led to a lower price.

To remedy this he suggested that all Thai people should try to buy more rubber goods.

Giving the high birth rate caused by teenagers, I can think of one good use for rubber.

Not sure if this has been translated correctly. Where it say " The Prime Minister has reiterated that the government has implemented solutions to the problems of people in the community " perhaps it s

To be honest, he's talking about domestic prices that because of government manipulation has no semblance to much lower global prices

Which one   makes  domestic producers  happier?

The  result  of  production  gluts  are  not altogether the "fault" of  Government  but  where that is a  factor   it usually precedes any  current  Government. Regardless  the result  of those  who dive into an  agricultural  trend  and  create the  glut  will  invariably bring the issue  to  Government in an appeal  to  maintain initial economic outcome. Sadly that  often results  in  subsidies  which are  actually a  tax on everybody but for  political appeal are often implemented.

Just 'What' people is he talking about???????   His 'cronies' maybe........

He surely don't have any concerns about the poor people of Issan.........

the core problems of inequality and censorship remain

Yes, get them frying in palm oil, to go along with the palm oil oozing out of every second edible out there on the shelves, watch the national health bill soar as they sicken and die.

I love the smell of Unintended Consequences in the morning.

Plus we are buying 2 more submarines to add to the old ones we have bought. That should employ another 150 men and 1 Admiral

Clearly, this explains his overwhelming electoral success - voted back into power (not that he ever left) - the acclamation of the people.

All these suggestions that he was aided by dispensing government money, banning a major opposition party, targeting opposition leaders and so on are, as Boris Johnson would say: "an inverted pyramid of piffle"!
