Oman National Dies in Hotel Room

At 11.30 pm of 9th March, the Pattaya Police were informed by staff of Sabai Wing Hotel, located in North Pattaya Road, Soi 1, that a foreigner was found dead in a room and requested the police to go investigate.

In the room, the team found the body of Mr. Rashid Almamdhaki, aged 40, an Oman national. There were no signs of him being attacked, nothing was missing and his belongings were untouched. It is believed that had died approximately 2 – 3 hours before from a heart attack or sickness that he had.

The deceased’s friend told the police that before Mr. Rashid died, he was in the room with his girlfriend from Morocco. The friend went out and when he returned he came in to see Mr. Rashid lying on the bed, so shook him to wake him up but got no response. He thought that Mr. Rashid must be very sick so informed the hotel to call an ambulance, but when the ambulance arrived, they told him that Mr. Rashid was already died.

The police have recorded the statements and sent Mr. Rashid’s body for autopsy. In the meantime, the Oman Embassy has been informed.

No mention of this in Times of Oman or Khaleej daily papers. Hmmmmmmm
