Citibank handle UK state pension payments.

They are not the intermediary bank. An intermediary bank has to clear the funds.

Bank of Thailand are the intermediary bank in this case and transfer to the HQ of your Thai bank, who then transfer to your local branch.

All International transfers go through the HQ of the respective bank to your local branch.

Your local branch can only issue a 6 month statement, or sign into HQ and type a letter concerning the last 12 months transactions.

If you need a 12 month bank statement it can be ordered via your local branch from HQ.

However much easier for Immigration to follow, is again to request via your branch, a 12 month statement of 'International Transfers' from the HQ.

This will list just all overseas transaction deposits, including BAHTNET transactions.

I am also from the UK.

It is what I thought but not what I was told.

I will ask again.

Passbooks record FTT or BAHTNET coding.

Immigration advise you obtain a 12 month bank statement, or a statement of International transfers (only available from HQ)for good reason. They identify all foreign transactions as 'International'.

Takes 5 days to order and receive.

A average income is allow for an extension of stay based upon marriage. You have not stated what type you were applying for but the 40k baht number makes me think it was for marriage.

From the clause 2.18 of the police order.

Average income is not allowed for a extension based upon retirement.

If married to Thai you do have the option to a multiple entry non-o visa in Savannakhet with not financial proof.

Is this average income rule actually being implemented? It's big news to me.

I'm changing from retirement to marriage extension on July 23. I inherited some money and was hoping to use it to make up 400,000 Baht bank deposit security but it won't arrive until June 4 and so not enough seasoning time.  So I was contemplating trip to Savannakhet. But if I add my regular monthly income transfer of 32,000 Baht to the 400,000 and take an average I will have way more then 40,000/480,000 necessary.

For marriage it's 40k monthly income or 400k bank deposit seasoned for two months. You cannot combine the two.

60 day extension as Joe suggested will allow your 400K to season for the required 2 months.

It's recommended you leave the 400K in the bank for the under consideration period, until your extension is granted.

Unlike the retirement extension, you can withdraw the whole 400K after the extension is granted, just top it back to 400K 2 months prior to next extension application.

Can I claim the 400,000 transfer as income and thus add it to increase the yearly average income?

That is not allowed.

The income has to be transferred in monthly. It can be an average of 40k baht monthly for the year. Bringing in 400k baht all at one time to bring the average up would not be accepted.

Just spent another half our trying to get through to the staff at Bangkok Bank KSG Chiangmai who continue to insist that H/O office will NOT provide a statement of international transfers. (The same old FTT/ BAHTNET difference, I tried to explain "They identify all foreign transactions as 'International'." to no avail)

Left before I became even more frustrated and said I would provide a sample copy of letters/statements provided to customers of other branches. To that end do you/anyone have such a sample letter/statement.

Thanks

This I believe is an example of what you require.

It was what another member posted as an example.

Depends on the method used to transfer you Pension and Income.

Both pension and income are BAHTNET.
