Female MP under fire for wearing black and white jacket

One is the first-time female Member of Parliament from a new party that won the hearts of first-time voters, while the other is a female senator and a top pathologist known for her extraordinary hairstyle.

Pannika Wanich, a new MP from the newly formed Future Forward Party has been criticised for her clothing choice by Dr Porntip Rojanasunan, a female senator who is the country’s top pathologist.

Porntip, former head of the Central Institute of Forensic Science, criticised Pannika for dressing “improperly” during the mourning period for late former prime minister Prem Tinsulanonda, who died late last month.

The government asked public figures to wear mourning clothing until June 17.

MPs and senators attending the meeting to select the next prime minister wore black, while Pannika wore black and a white blazer.

In response, Pannika told reporters that she was surprised by the comments. “We met at a canteen and she said nothing. Maybe it is a misunderstanding,” she said.

She insisted that her choice of clothing was appropriate.

The new MP added that the choice of the next premier was more important than clothing choices.

One comment under Porntip’s post said: “How come the doctor dare criticise Pannika for wearing inappropriate dress while the doctor herself had violet hair at the parliamentary meeting?”

Black sleeves must rate along side a black arm-band.

It's all a power game. I publicly shame you. Look, it works, I am more powerful than you.

Shame.  She used to be known for having, and standing by, independent views.

Black and white is a good choice, reflecting whether Thais should be entirely unhappy at Prem's passing, maybe.

Now that is unkind to "self righteous, publicity seeking, hypocrites".

They now, and always have, formed the government.

They would never sink that low..................but then again.........

The dog pack is already establishing status positions and they have not  yet  gathered around to  feast on the  carcase  of the voters !

The one with the wacky hair looks a bit like an ancient Debbie Harry ..

and the coat itself looks like its got a load of black overspray on the bottom bit ..

nobody is listening to the junta, nobody wears black or any other colour by order. I have observed it since 5.12.2017. By chance I put yellow tshirt and was looked upon as an alien

What about the half naked bar girl prostitutes in open public places such as Soi 6 Pattaya, Soi 4 Candy Land Bangkok, Soi Cowboy Bangkok not forgetting Patong and many more places such as night and day in Udon Thani etc.. scattered in many parts of Thailand?

But that's ok because the girls work to stimulate tourism by means of selling their bodies, which is illigal.

Paradise. Double edged sword.

Not completely sure about the color but I'd say the style's OK.

So she turns up looking like a parrot, says nothing about a megalomaniac conniving his way to power, but goes all out on someone's choice of clothing.

Cabinet minister if ever there was

The land of uniforms and colours that people should wear. Sad.

Thailand is backwards, we need more internet for all and tech savvy thais who can go around firewalls and read reports such as what the elephant true nature is, simple finance to understand just how much the junta is milking from the country,

As far as I know, both white and black are colors of mourning, I don't understand how one can deal with such foolishness when there are really important changes to be made.
A criticism then from a punk ???

It was half way through the mourning period after-all !

I thought white WAS the traditional color of mourning in Thailand and other parts of Asia.

Anyone who would accept an appointed Senator position from the Junta has no credibility.

Speaking of credibility, every time I see this Pornthip creature, I can't help but think of the GT2000.

Pornthip Rojanasunand, Director of the Central Institute of Forensic Science, also defended the use of the GT200 devices, claiming that they were effective when searching for bombs and even nails under water. She said: "I do not feel embarrassed if the bomb detector is proven ineffective. Personally, I have never handled the device myself. But my people have used it and it is accurate every time. Long long time ago, people believed that the Earth is flat and anyone who said otherwise faced execution. Things which are not visible does not necessarily mean they do not exist. The devices are there and no one has the right to ban their use. I will continue to use it."

somebody thought she was a penguin?

Touche! Love it.

By the way, white is the traditional color of mourning in many Asian countries, including China. Violet is not. Pannika - probably unwittingly - struck a great compromise, effectively combining the western mourning color (black) and the eastern one (white).

An  absolute disgrace in the scientific profession now a big mouth in the Senate. "I will continue to use it" should read "I will continue to sacrifice young soldiers' lives as they use it."

Tried to make herself famous again in the Koh Tao but rightfully ignored.

Now, into the Senate, for the money and to stroke her own ego.

I like her dress. Next.

Perfect! - That coming back to bite her - The biggest military purchase scam ever!.  I'm also wondering:  Did she have a hand in the investigation of the murder of the British couple on Koh Tao?
