Gandtee Posted June 8, 2019 Share Posted June 8, 2019 A trivial subject I know. I've cut the base off my free standing oven thermometer so as to hang it permanently on the inside of oven door. I was fed up with the thing falling over and burning my hands. Does the base affect the reading? The oven now seems not to reach the temperature it did before I butchered the thermometer.
