A man by the name of Valentin Finabirov was arrested at a shop in Phang-nga in southern Thailand by the local immigration police.

He was found to be on 1,206 days overstay in Thailand and is now in custody.

A picture on Naew Na showed him hidden behind a piece of paper as Phang-nga immigration officers grinned.

They said he was arrested contrary to Section 81 of the 1979 Immigration Act.

His nationality was not mentioned.

Well done boys, keeping Thailand safe....

Was Valentin also in possession of sex toys or an E-cigarette ??

Grinning Thai's. Shamed foreigner. Nothing wrong with this picture if you flout immigration rules. Happy that he enjoyed his stay in Thailand.

Don't overstay your welcome in this country or there will be price and consequences to pay, you'll end in jail led in with a big smile and a wai...

A common expression in Thailand is som nam na and it basically means a person gets what they deserve. I have to jump through the hoops in order to stay in Thailand and my Thai wife had to go through a similar rigmarole to visit the states. The rules and regulations to visit or live in either country can be exasperating and at times simply silly, but they are necessary.  Som nam na, dude...
