I'm going to ask today about changing to an extension based on marriage. I prefer talking to the staff in Thai. Anyone know the official way to say this?

You've just stated in another thread you obtained Thai citizenship.

Why would you need a marriage extension.

This is a good one I guess

He has applied for citizenship but it has not been granted yet.

Thanks, but that isn't what he implied.

Had he stated he'd applied for citizenship, I wouldn't have made any comment about his marriage extension application.

Have you hitherto been on a retirement one?

pretty good... door might be  dtaw  as it is a dtor dtow sound

You say you are "changing" to a marriage extension.  From retirement or ??

In that case you might want to say   PLIEN   to change .   pom tongkan plien dtaw ar yoo jak retirement tung dtang ngan krap

He isn't talking about a visa, but about an extension of stay.

Official lingo for this is "อนุญาตเพื่ออยู่ในราชอาณาจักร" = permission to stay in the kingdom, as you can see in the headline of the TM7 form.

Especially the "kingdom" is probably a bit over the top, so i would at least replace this with Thailand.

Yes, you are correct. I am wrong.

i read it/understand it wrong. I saw “marriage” and “extension” so thought like that.

I think he just want to “extension the marriage visa”

sorry Neeranman. Hope you got the correct visa.

As someone who lives in Thailand on a visa and extensions based on marriage to a Thai, there is no such thing as a "marriage" visa, although you could probably ask for one and immigration would know what you're asking for. Officially, what is stamped in your passport is a "Thai Wife" visa extension, I've got 14 of them in two passports. In Thai or English, you shouldn't have a problem getting what you're asking for.

What's that saying: If you have to ask....

If you don't know already just speak in english, because they are going to fire 100 questions to you about this, that, where is this, where is that ...then to be told, "sorry sir can not" or "I speak to your thai lady".

You get no points for official way of speaking. Polite colloqial speech is just fine.

No, a working one. I was on s marriage one years ago when it was 200k in the bank for 10 minutes.

Why not bring your wife with you?

She confuses things and when she is there,  they ignore me.

I asked and was told that I need 400 k in the bank. I won't have to leave the country,  which is excellent.

However, they said I couldn't  do the monthly income, despite having 3x the asked for amount.

She will have to be with you when you apply for the extension.
