Smoking at home to soon become a punishable offence

People in Thailand will no longer be allowed to smoke at home if their habit has a negative effect on other family members due to exposure to second-hand smoke, says the Act on Promotion of the Family Institute Development and Protection, which will go into effect from August 20.

CHIANG RAI province on Sunday hosted a running and cycling event to commemorate last year’s rescue of members of the Wild Boars Football Club from the flooded Tham Luang Cave and to pay tribute to diver Saman Gunan, who lost his life during the dramatic effort.

Facial ID scanning for phone users in deep South to start November 1st

Starting October 31st, mobile phone users in Thailand’s three southernmost provinces of Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat and the districts of Na Thawee, Jana, Tepa and Sabayoi of Songkhla, who do not have their SIM cards registered and their faces scanned for identification, will not be able to use mobile services.
