Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusriptak has been named the most favoured minister among the top ten would-be ministers in an opinion survey of 1,254 people conducted by Suan Dusit Poll from June 19th to 22nd.

According to the poll, Somkid received 42.12% of the votes followed, in the following order, by Wissanu Krea-ngarm, 37.58%; PM Prayut Chan-o-cha, 30.619%; Putthipong Punnakan, 26.82%; Anupong Paochinda, 24.55%; Jurin Laksanavisit, 20%; M.R. Jatumongkol Sonakul, 19.09%; Khunying Kalaya Sophonpanich, 15.30%; Somsak Thepsuthin, 12.12% and Suriya Juangroongruangkit, 11.21%.

On the issue about the “strong points” of the cabinet, the poll shows PM Prayut’s leadership with junta’s support, 44.75%; support from various sectors because it is an elected government, 29.83%; and political experience because most are veteran politicians, 27.62%.

Seriously! - Do you call talking to 1252 people in a population of 65 million a poll?

Which bar or bus stop did they do that in?

So PM Prayut received a significantly smaller percentage of the vote than that treacherous and duplicitous Wissanu. That tells a story in itself.

Perhaps the moniker "Pinocchio" sprung to people's mind when they were asked for their opinion on the PM.

So support of an elected government by a substantial minority.

How does that happen?

When an election isn't really an open and free election due to unelected government organizations.

The government still remains a military government in substance - political chaos and distress remain.
