Where to go for urology test?

Featured Replies

I need to see a urologist to get a biopsy. Apparently my symptoms could be caused by prostate cancer or prostitis.

Would like to know the best place to go in Bangkok or Chiang Mai and how much it would likely cost.

Hopefully someone will have some advice.

First of all, do not rush into a biopsy. Who told you that you need one? There are a number of tests that would normally be done before biopsy would be suggested. Prostatitis diagnosis certainly does not require biopsy, neither usually does diagnosis of BPH (benogn enlargement of the prostate, very common in older men). Biopsy would be indicated only if there was serious suspicion f cancer.

In Bangkok this urologist is well recommended:

You can get an idea of costs here post #38

Thanks very much for your reply. I will  study those threads carefully.

I’m 51 and my PSA level is 9.95. It’s tripled since last tested three years ago.

My prostate is also enlarged.

I know that the costs of procedures and consultations are widely divergent here in Thailand so I was reluctant to just go to any hospital on spec.

Thanks again
