Well,  by now most of you have heard of my fleet of Competition lawn mowers.  After years of work and restoration,  I have finally got the toro off the blocks and managed to find a turbo charger unit and a nitrous bottle feed system that makes this thing cut the grass really fast.

I had to install a safety parachute to slow it down so I wouldn't accidentally bust through the haybales at the corners.

But seriously,    Is it possible to get non alcohol blended gasoline here in Thailand?     Back home,  we could find it at marinas.   I live in a port town near the delta of the tha Jin river,  but most of the boats are diesels and there isn't a marina per se.

I'd rather run straight gas in my motorbike than alcohol blend.   You get more miles from a gallon of gas than you do from a gallon of alcohol,  and I know it is better for the hoses.

any thoughtful ideas are appreciated.

Yes, but it's getting harder to find. You need "benzine" from the yellow pump.

Our local PTT, from Google Maps dated June 2018. I think they still have it.

In reality, modern engines are quite happy on the 10% ethanol blends.

use 95 ethanol in my Honda Accord without any issues.

Re the lawnmower, hope you've added an aerofoil for extra stability down the straights.

Gasohol 91/95 = 10% Ethanol

E20 = 20% Ethanol

E85 = 85% Ethanol

Benzine = 0% Ethanol

With benzine you get a few more kilometers out of a tank, but if you look at the energy content per baht it's not worth it

I ain't saying your wrong,  but this guy says that benzine has 1/3 more energy per unit than ethanol.   Inteserting website too.

Ethanol has a much higher octane rating than gasoline. It resists spark and allows for a much higher compression ratio.

Completely different to what you’re trying to compare it to.

So what? Gasohol 91/95 contains 10% Ethanol. 1/3 of 10% is about 3%. This means "Benzine" has 3% more power than Gasohol, or that it gives you 3% more mileage.

Gasohol does currently cost about 30 THB, so if you can buy Benzine for less than 31 THB then this is cheaper and you should buy it.

My understanding is that the 91 grade here is e85.   Am I delirious?

E85 has a 108 octane rating.

In case you're using a drag lawn mower, you could go to Best Ocean Airpark / or Bang Phra Airport to get 100LL. it's 100MON(or 107+RON) and usually goes 60-80thb/litre. Suppose your lawn mower already deleted the cat ?

VP fuels like MS109 price are bloated here, could several times 100LL

Or if you live near Malaysia border, just fill your tank with cheap high octane malay juice

Yep and plenty available. Best solution for op would be convert fuel systems, eg. PTFE AN hose, E85 rated filter, pump, on his lawn mower. Since it needs a chute must already got big injectors, fuel cell, mappable ECU etc.

iirc E85 on big power needs to change oil more frequently, but otherwise will protect engine more over regular gasoline.

The mapped ECU completely undid my proton phase work in the particle accelerator.   I had to re address the burners and shim the backscatter pattern in order to get it back to passable.    I am able to mulch and winterize all in one shot now which is important, But I do worry about safety and pushing the vortices and their limit.
