The story of the Malaysian, the ladyboy...and no case to answer

A Malaysian man went to the Hat Yai police after 70,000 baht had gone missing from his room.

He said that he had arrived in Thailand with a friend by car from across the border and changed 77,000 baht up.

He put 70,000 baht in an envelope and kept the rest for immediate expenses. The bulk of the money he left in his room.

He then went out and picked up "Mr A" for sex.

Following the nighttime activity in his own room the Malaysian took Mr A back to his residence.

At 5 am while getting ready to go on to Bangkok he found that his envelope was missing and thought it must be Mr A who was responsible so he went to the police and they brought the transgender in for questioning.

CCTV revealed that no one had gone into the Malaysian's room while he was taking Mr A home.

A search of Mr A's address also revealed no evidence.

The Malaysian thus did not press charges and the case was merely recorded in the book.

Hat Yai focus reported the story in as deadpan a way as Thaivisa has attempted to replicate here.

I wouldn't trust a politician, a policeman or a lawyer let alone a ladyboy!

Which probably mean there was no envelope with 70K.

Sounds like an insurance scam but the police asked to many questions and he got hot feet and dropped the accusations.

Due to strict Malaysian laws...

"Malaysia retains its colonial era criminal ban on sodomy (as well as oral sex), broadly defined to include both heterosexual and homosexual acts, with possible punishment including fines, prison sentences of up to twenty years, and even corporal punishment. A subsection of the Criminal Code also provides additional punishment for men convicted of "gross indecency with another male person".[2] In addition to the secular law, Muslim citizens may also be charged in special Islamic courts."

he could be in trouble at home for hopping into Thailand for some sausage if named.

Good to see the Thai brand of tourism, responsibility and quality, in action,

Shafted for a negotiated price with an extra large tip on top !
