This is the last place on Earth I would be flaunting wealth as a foreigner.

The RTP and or the immigration police will be around shortly for a quiet word and a brown envelope.

Yes, not to mention how many would-be kidnappers saw his video. What a fool.

kindappers for that???

That's an average american home, for that price you can't even get a studio apartment in NYC....

Pretty much every big bangkok townhouse in a good location costs more than this: https://www.ddproperty.com/en/property-for-sale?region_code=TH10&market=residential&property_type_code[]=TOWN&property_type=T&minprice=50000000

this video will no doubt be very popular among his thai viewers as it shows wealth aka expensive house.

i once posted a pic of me when i borrowed a friends benz suv and was shocked seeing people like it.

nate does not seem to be a stupid guy, pranksters are common on the internet these days. time is not static, things change.

to all the haters and those jealous, dont forget at one time people were burning beatles records

nate is young, his lifestyle and his cultural mores are different from ours.

for us we are lucky to wake up, have a bowel movement, and pray the viagra works

That house is a hi-so wet dream. Big lumpy brown furniture, the boat in the drive. The tacky gargoyle on the gate. It's not typical from what I see back home. It's a MacMansion. It's tasteless. And they usually squat in "reclaimed neighborhoods." What is it, about a couple of million dollars for that house? That's not average.

1.6 mio USD for a home in Californa that size... prolly loaded with Debt as no one who has real money would build this thing that ugly.

Don't think they would ever even get that money, as those mansions don't sell well: https://www.cnbc.com/2017/10/13/boomers-worry-they-cant-sell-those-big-suburban-homes-when-the-time-comes.html

I don't see anything spectacular here, no nice location, no nice home just spectacular uglyness, so yeah you are right might intrigue some thai hisos too.

This nothing to be paranoid about, there are way way way richer thais everywhere locally available here.

For what it's worth, I dont despise the guy for making money from being internet famous (despite the dumb stuff he does), I just dont think his house is newsworthy to anyone other than his followers.

Am I a little jealous hes making money doing sweet FA? Absolutely. Do I give a rat's about him or his accommodation? Absolutely not.

Isn't it marvelous how much money one can skim off nowadays by torturing cats and deep-freezing live fish on camera and behaving like a general, culturally insensitive jacka**? And all thanks to 1.2 million misguided idiot followers who seemingly enjoy watching these antics.

Fairly nice looking home. Most Thais build and live in fairly poorly built houses. Even rich Thais.

Asians don't really know how to live comfortably.

I live in a 50 year old house. Back during the 2011 flood, my first floor had almost one meter of water standing in it for over two months. When things dried out, there wasn't a crack or any subsidence issues. Electrical wiring was the biggest problem, but only for the doorbell and outdoor lights. What do you think would happen to Nate's house after standing in floodwater for two months? US homebuilders are notorious for shoddy work and substandard material, using illegal labor. Maybe Thailand is now, too. But 50 years ago, they built some solid structures.

Sure, I understand. However, we don't know if his house is in an area with high probability of flooding, so maybe not important.

As for building, the US, being a vast country of many different climates, I would expect there to be a wide variety of quality in building.

For example, California has very strict building codes because of the earthquakes. Some areas, though, have almost no natural weather concerns and have homes built of timber and without strict codes.

In Thailand, almost everything is poor quality, helped though by the fact that Thais use ugly poor quality but still stronger than wood concrete.

Absolutely nothing at all.

Other than what a shallow person he is, but most with any sense already were aware of that

yeah yeah yeah.

More likely another childish stunt like previous..

when he hired a luxury car for a day and drove around telling everyone he just bought it.

We will probably soon discover that place is some upmarket luxury B&B setup that he scraped up enough dough to stay there one night.

what a ฟaมker!!

I know a few years ago that people were putting their hands through the walls of downtown Bangkok condos and finding the insulation consisted of old newspapers, cardboard, and other trash. But all I can say is my house is built solidly. I got a look at things when a water leak in the bathroom necessitated some work there. The house is made of steel reinforced concrete. It's built like the Berlin flak towers. And so are all the other houses here. None of them came out of the flood with much damage.

It's not his house and maybe the family have donated to good causes.  How about you donating something as you're so quick to demand charity from others?

You may not like him but how is he a "spoiled brat"?

Maybe the "wealth" has gone to your head...

How exactly did your twisted logic turned this on me??

I'm not the one that constantly humiliated Thai kids on their English skill levels in front of a mass audience on YouTube, Nor did i encourage dangerous games to the masses.

And i certainty did not show-off the 50mil bath house which i unfortunately do not have.. ????

If his family did donate to a good cause here, then he better inform us about that as well, otherwise he will be seen as a braggart rich boy.

Sure, could be nicer. Relative to Thais though it's great.

Have many rich Thais in wife's family. All homes are ugly and uncomfortable.

Thais prefer to live like They are poor even when they are rich and use money mostly for show.

Typical Thai will prefer to have a Maserati parked outside a decrepit house full of roaches ans rats

Now the question is - where did he get the money to buy/build this ugly house?

If it came from his Youtube efforts, I'd say that he was working, which is fine if he has a WP.  But perhaps of more interest is, did he bring those revenues into Thailand in the same tax year as they were earned.  Because if he did, then under Thai law, they are taxable!

Years ago had a neighbour who had a 'benz' ( german taxi ) and he only drove it for the first 7 or 8 days of the month. He could only afford 1 tank of gas a month and when that was gone he went to work on the bus. ????

I didn't turn on you, I asked you a question based on what I thought was an unjustified criticism that you still can't answer, something wrong with that?  You may not like him but where does the "spoiled brat" bit come from?

"Twisted logic"?  Love to see you explain that.

"If his family did donate to a good cause here, then he better inform us about that as well..."

Why had his family "better inform us about that as well"?  What have their philanthropic gestures got to do with anyone at Thaivisa?

That may be how your wife's family like to live but it sure isn't a "typical Thai" trait.

I've been to the homes of more wealthy Thais than I can recall. Tens maybe even thousands.

It's a common characteristic.

Books have been written about Asian preferences for public wealth displays over private ones.

"Books have been written about Asian preferences for public wealth displays over private ones".

Not the way that you described the conditions, "decrepit house full of roaches ans rats", they haven't.

"I've been to the homes of more wealthy Thais than I can recall. Tens maybe even thousands".

Thousands?  Good for you.  if only we were all as connected as you'd like us to think you are!
