SOURCE: Pattaya City News: March 15th 2007

Cleaner brutally murdered as she takes a lunch break.

A gruesome murder now from a small apartment complex in Pong sub-district. Due to the seriousness of the case, Police Colonel Nopadon, the Chief of Banglamung Police oversaw the case which led to the death of Khun Surin aged 42, who works as a cleaner at the Pong Sub-District Administration Building.

Every day at lunchtime, she returns back to her room for a break and on Wednesday at Midday she returned to her home. A single witness to the crime, Khun Wipar, who also lives at the complex saw Khun Surin return to the room but on this day heard screams of help from the room. She ran to the room and saw a man named as Khun Rueng thought to be aged between 40 and 45, who also lives at the complex and works in Pattaya as a Security Guard.

He had blood stains on his hands and was clearly in an agitated state. Khun Wipar entered Khun Surin’s room and found her lying on the floor. Her body was covered with blood and multiple puncture wounds suggesting a brutal knife attack had just taken place.

One of the knives was still inside her stomach. The other broken knife was found nearby on the floor. Although Police know who the suspect is, he is currently at large.

Motives behind the attack are unknown but Police suspect it may be a robbery which became violent as Khun Rueng is known to be having financial problems.

An intense man-hunt is now underway as Police are determined to find the killer as quickly as possible before he can strike again.
