Teaching Online - WP needed or not?

Working online (customers, money, registered business etc. abroad) can currently be considered legal.

We didn't see a single report of any online worker who was arrested for having worked illegally. There were some news where these people ended up in some immigration police / department of employment raid, but these people were let go and the officials said what they did was not illegal.

 

Of course now some people will show up and claim that it's illegal and so on.

Everybody who thinks that this is illegal, you are welcome to prove your point, actually quite easy to do: Choose any big co-working space, where you can be sure to find many people who work online on tourist visas etc. and report it to immigration police.

If you are right we will see news about foreigners being deported for working online within the next few weeks.

Just because they are not going after tourists working online doesn’t mean what they are doing is legal.

 

The main reason they don’t is because if the prosecute one they’re have to prosecute all tourists that so much as answer an email while on holiday. 

 

As long as you keep online work on the down-low the authorities will almost certainly leave you alone even though you are breaking the law. A very black and white law that says you can’t work at your occupation OR be employed without permission.

 

Immigration Act Section 37 : An alien having received a temporary entry permit into the Kingdom must comply with the
following :
1. Shall not engage in the occupation or temporary or employment unless authorized by the Director General. or competent official deputized by the Director General . If , in any case , there is a law concerning alien employment provided hereafter , the granting of work privileges must comply with the law concerned.
