Just realised I forgot to do my 90 day reporting which was due on 5 July.

Are they checking it at the airport these days? Will exit via Suvarnaphuum soon anyway.

What are they fining people these days? if it comes up I know the max is not exceeding 5,000 baht. But is it 100 baht a day or something like that?

Or a flat 2,000 as I've been a good boy otherwise, and haven't been a criminal who they discovered also didn't do 90 days ????.

Cheers

Fletch ????

No.

It’s usually a flat 2,000.

It’s 4,000 if caught and arrested (not likely to happen).

They can charge up to 5,000 and can add 200 baht a day until a fine that’s issued has been paid.

But presumably this is from the date when any fine was issued (most likely when the OP submits his first 90-day report after his return to Thailand in practice) rather than from the due date of the overdue report?

I would just fly and see what happens in the distant future. Take the old 90 day reporting receipt out of the passport , particularly when you do the next one. There is always the fear mongering of a belated fine and daily charge which would be at least 100 days worth. Personally never heard of someone being hit for 5000 baht.

Still, it is easier and less stressful to make the reports as due.

Yes, but the odds of a retrospective fine are very low.

If you are in an office and told you must pay a fine, and don’t pay on the spot, they can add an extra 200 baht per day, from that day, until you pay.

It’s not from the date the 90 day report was due.

Not sure where you get 100 days from. The daily charge starts on the day a fine is issued until you pay. Why would anyone wait 100 days to pay and run up an extra 20K?

I assumed 10 days out of country. Then obviously the 90 days to next due date. So the fine has no relation whatsoever to the number of days overdue for the report?

Judging by your correction the fine should not be more than 2000 initially? How can it become 5000 baht?

No. It’s set at 2,000 baht whether 1 day or 80 days late.

By law Immigration can charge a maximum of 5,000 baht for any missed report. They choose to charge 2,000.

Is there some reason that they don't check the 90-day report status when departing?

Seems unusual to leave such a loophole open, and that they are leaving money on the table?

I'm sure there's a logical reason, but it's evading me at present.

Because it is not within the responsibilities of departure immigration.

Ninety day reports and etc are the responsibility of local immigration offices.
