Man with Knife Arrested in Tourist Area

Police Lieutenant Colonel Santi Chainiramai, a crime suppressing officer at Pattaya police station and his team were able to capture a Thai male with a knife while he was sitting in a dark corner of a tourist area - acting suspiciously.

This man was found at 10.30 pm on 15th March.

Residents told the police that they thought this man was about to rob tourists that walk on the beach road. He was acting suspiciously as when tourists in large groups or a lady with a man came by he would continue on sitting, but what would happen if one person comes alone? The residents worried so informed the police.

The man; Phai, aged 35, from Buriram Province stated that he wasn’t going to do anything. He was just sitting there minding his own business. As for the knife which was 5 inches long, he just had it to protect himself from his enemies. The police did not believe his statement but couldn’t do anything other than charging him for possessing a weapon in public, made a record on him, and then had to let him go.

And so he will probably appear on here again sometime next week
