And keep in mind, that price is with a volume discount!!

"On paved roads the vehicle can attain speeds of 62 mph without a governor and 37 mph with a governor."

Maybe it's only for the transport of government officials..    555

The Governor of Loei rides a bicycle to work.  Though if the Loei River floods again, a Stryker would be pretty useful.

I know  the money hasn't  come from tourism  lol

Suppose they look at it with their pea size brains and think,

It's a 10% savings based on the US$ exchange to Tbt 10 years ago.

But possibly a 100% increase in price, from 10 years ago. lol.

Imports are great today.. exch. wise.

Exports will cease to exist shortly,  just like the tourists spending.

Point well taken and I agree. But with dones you cannot show up anywhere in the middle of the night with soldiers, knock on the the door, as it were, and have you way. With these babies no problemo, you can. Secure an area in your city or province without fear your soldiers/police will get pelted with whatever is available, roll up on an alleged human trafficking ring in the jungle, easy peasy. I won't even mention the endless possibilities they can be used for in drug busts.

In America now, today as we live and breathe many police departments have modified versions they have been using for some time now. L.A., Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, MIami and more all have them. Sooo these modified tanks have many more nifty uses than what they appear to have on the surface. You can even launch drones from them. Wanna be in a position to pounce on bad guys quickly, take a bunch of drones, put them inside, drive to your target location, set your drone surveillance area for .5 km around of you and once you 'nab' them they'll be like 'holy smokes how'd they get here so fast??!!!

It seems like the integration of military grade equipment into social management here has just morphed.

As Bob Dylan sang in the 1960's "The Times They are A Changin"

In the US they are also used to rescue people in times of natural disasters

Should be excellent for crowd control and/or lightly armed opponents. Don’t see any other use for them.  They would go up like fireworks if countered by any decent AP ordinance.  Might the money have been spent on education, health care, infrastructure ... not when you have so many threats to Thai sovereignty.

actually a bradley fighting vehicle would be better there in bkk and to he who said the stryker could be taken out by ap, a direct hit by rpg is a tickell to the beast.
