BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's central bank is still worried about speculation in the baht <THB=TH> and has tools to handle it, a senior official said on Wednesday, as the Thai currency has stayed strong despite recent measures to slow fund inflows from abroad.

The Sawang Din Daen Provincial Court on Wednesday ordered nine people who allegedly led a village protest against plans for a Chinese mining project to pay a combined Bt1.5 million in compensation to the company, a lawyer for the defence team said. Cabinet to endorse Bt3.2 trillion budget for 2020

Thailand’s Cabinet is set to endorse the proposed budget for fiscal year 2020 next week. The proposed budget is expected to call for expenditure of Bt3.2 trillion with a budget deficit of Bt450 billion.
