Macadamia trees in Thailand ?

Featured Replies

Is it possible to source macadamia tree in Thailand..., or is it possible to just legally bring some in as cuttings ?

At northern  Thailand  they grow at Chiangmai  ,Chiang rai and Mae Hong son

I see seeds on lazada.

This subject has come up before on TV try looking  at TV's archives, for more information.

Yes you can buy them at some nurseries (+-B150 per tree). We have some trees. They however need to be planted in a cooler area. To help with survival you can paint their stems white and mulch. We also planted some trees close to pawpaw trees to provide some shade for small trees. This seemed to work. After 3 years we will chop down the pawpaw trees. No fertiliser during the first year. As for importing cuttings you may need an import permit. Visit your local customs office (each province has one) and talk to them.
