Visa for residents and retired people

I do not really understand the "fuss" about the various migration office forms and rules. I have been living here for 9 years and travelled a lot around the country, short and longer trips. I never went to any migration offices before and after the trips, and never ever had any problems. So what. Coming from Switzerland, i do appreciate, that a group of people have organised the petition to the migration office, this is democracy at best. However i would prefer to question the 90 days checks and the tremendous paper and foto-work for the renewal of the visa, every year. I hoped with the "good and bad guys" there would be some burocratic relieve for the "good guy" who never caused any problems and tougher rules for the "bad guys". I wait for the day we only have to Visite the migration office one time a year, in a relaxed and friendly way, paying our fees without all the unnecessary paperwork. Overall i never had any bad experiences with the police and migration officials.

agree with you, pretty much same situation, do travel regularly around Thailand and never reported any IMO, only visited them every 90 days which should or I would appreciated if it was removed as well. Generally one with a visa traveling outside Thailand and wanting to come back needs a re-entry permit, thus arriving at the border (land/airport/ferry/walk,etc.) will have to show the re-entry permit doing so IMO will (or should) know we are back, simple why they make it so complicated ? my hopes (will not call them recommendations as it appears we can not recommend anything to IMO) thus my wish/hopes would be for the retired people living here year around, spending all their savings, pensions and whatever money they have, we should have a specific resident or long term living type permit/visa and avoid all the waste of time, aggravation and unnecessary paper work.... but that's only my opinion and I don't know if it counts

What you are not taking account of is that this TM30 nonsense enforcement is new - that is why it has not been an issue for you, or most of use, until very recently.  If it continues as now it is likely to be a bane for anyone doing any travel at all and a total mess for immigration to keep track of.

On the other hand, Immigration may not perceive an increase in their workload,due to the number of resident foreigners who will be departing Thailand, and not returning.
