I just bought a new Belkin Wireless G+ MIMO ADSL Modem to replace my 1.5 year old XAVI x8268r modem the i got from tot when i first signed up. I still have TOT Gold CYber 1,000kbs.

With my old modem speedtest.net gives me download speed of 900kbs and uploads of 400kbs. With the new modem its half that speed.

If you look at the setup pages for both modems, the old shows 1000kbs and the new bwlkin shows half that.

The only changes to the belkin configuration from its default was copied from the old modem

I switched back and forth several times and the belkin was always half the speed. I always checked the speed to the bangkok server from here in CM.

Any suggestions?

I fixed it. It was the quality of the phone cable. The two wire cable worked for the old modem but not for the new belkin. Now I get the full connection speed when I look at the belkin modem setup page. I also get 850K on the speedtest.net.
