Going to the US Embassy in Bangkok for a statement of residency. I would assume I take that to Thai Immigration office, and exchange for a Thai copy ?  Want to buy a motorbike in my name . Is there anything I will need ?  Have a Thai motorcycle license.

You get a Certificate of Residency either from your Embassy OR Immigration, not both.

Provided you've filed a TM30 you shouldn't have any problem obtaining one at Immigration.

Thanks for the info. As I work for the US gov't, and have to travel to Bangkok thought I would get one there.

I'm almost certain the USA embassy provide this service. Just posting this to inform AU folk that this service is not provided for au citizens at au embassy.
