NEW YORK (Reuters) - Financial records related to U.S. President Donald Trump and three of his children that congressional Democrats have requested from Deutsche Bank AG <DBKGn.DE> include tax returns, the bank disclosed in a court filing on Tuesday.

Two committees in the U.S. House of Representatives subpoenaed Deutsche Bank in April to provide financial records belonging to the president and his children Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump.

Deutsche Bank's filing, in the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, revealed that it had tax returns that it would need to hand over if it complied with the subpoenas, which the Trumps are seeking to block. It was not clear whose tax returns it had, because names were redacted from the filing.

A lawyer for the Trumps could not immediately be reached for comment. Deutsche Bank declined to comment.

The disclosure comes as Democrats on the House Ways and Means Committee are seeking to obtain Trump's personal and business tax returns, which the president has refused to turn over, from the Treasury Department.

Deutsche Bank has long been a principal lender for Trump's real estate business. A 2017 disclosure form showed thatTrump had at least $130 million of liabilities to the bank.

The subpoenas on Deutsche Bank, issued by the House Financial Services Committee and the Intelligence Committee, seek records of accounts, transactions and investments linked to Trump and the three named children, their immediate family members and several Trump Organization entities, including records of possible ties to foreign entities.

Deutsche Bank said in Tuesday's filing that it also had tax returns for people who "may constitute 'immediate family'" as defined by the subpoenas, without giving any names.

A lawyer for the Trumps last week urged the 2nd Circuit to block the bank from handing over the records, saying Congress did not have the authority to demand them. The court has not yet ruled on the case.

The Trumps are also seeking to block a separate subpoena served by the Financial Services Committee on Capital One Financial Corp <COF.N> seeks records related to the Trump Organization's hotel business.

Capital One said in a court filing on Tuesday that it did not have any tax returns related to the subpoena. The bank did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.

2nd Circuit judges had ordered both banks to disclose whether they had tax returns last week.

Before Trump, the custom for modern U.S. presidential candidates was to reveal their income tax returns during their campaigns.

"Presidents aren’t required by law to release their tax returns. Nevertheless, between 1974 and 2012, every president but Gerald Ford has made a voluntary release of the tax returns they filed while in office. Ford released no complete returns, but released 10 years of summary data including gross income, taxable income, major deductions, and taxes paid".

The many accounting firms doing his taxes through out the years,  should be concerned that the dems would reveal their firms names ,just because they worked for Mr. Trump! They probably be subjected to harassment.

I wouldn't get my hopes up for anything too exciting from these tax returns.

Agreed, other than the fact that he paid no taxes. That might tick off one or two of the base, but the rest will just say he was bein' smaht.

However, DB records might paint a more "exciting" picture?

As ugly as 3 years ago when Trump was on the cusp of going to jail for collusion with a foreign power(later proven false)? As ugly as 2 years ago when Trump was on the cusp of being doomed for having paid some porn star some money for something? As ugly as last year when the Mueller report was unveiled and bad stuff was on the cusp of raining down on Trump??

Is it possible that the only thing "getting ugly" is the repeated and unhinged silly comments on all threads concerning POTUS 45 Donald Trump by his political opponents?

That's a reasonable request to ask for his tax returns and financial records, he's a (big mouth) public figure claiming day in day out that he has nothing to hide, why such as fuss he should show good faith and cooperate and sine he's at it should release his academic records as well after that I do think all the unhinged silly comments/threads about potus may stop

Hopefully his tax details are put out in the open. Why such need to hide stuff especially being the President elected by the people and for the people.  It's funny how Trump supporters are not able to see how this NYC rich guy and previous reality tv show star, really is. It's one thing to jump on the band-wagon and it's another thing to be naive about political leaders.

On a side note, I'm really hoping Bernie2020 can win! Hell, or even, Tulsi2020. I'd like to vote in favor of my own socioeconomic class rather the 1% and major corporations.
