I've been reading a lot of stuff and it seems that Thai is probably the biggest and fastest growing market for MMORPG's right now in South East Asia.

Yet I can't find much info about which games are currently the ones the are being played most of the time. :o

So my question is that even if you dont actually play the game, which MMORPG do you usually see are being played by most gamers here in Thailand?

From pure observation I'd say most Thai people play ragnarok, while expats tend to stick to WoW.

I voted for Ragnarok, as all my students rave about it. I've never played it though as there isn't a Mac version available.

Lineage is also very popular amongst the locals but the few Thai players I game with or are on my xfire friends of friends list tend to play WoW..

Go to any local internet cafe (or game cafe) and check it out to see yourself.

Ragnarok *was* originally *the* MMORPG that Thais played, bar none. Its popularity has waned, however, because of constant problems (especially the fact that bots outnumber human players) and the availability of other MMORPGs to play. Pangya and the Dance game are pretty popular, but they probably wouldn't be considered MMORPGs. WoW, because of not having any local servers (and hence no local content, especially the *language*) is hardly played by any Thais (at least non-westernized Thais). Of course language is also probably why expats tend to play things like WoW instead of local MMORPGs.

It's interesting to see that even if Ragnarok online is a bit dated, its popularity among gamers is still unparalled (maybe because of the constant content updates?).

Personally I like Lineage 2 a lot more than RO or WoW but im not sure if its really successful since I don't know much players other than my friends. Does it have the same number of players like RO has or much less?

The wife plays Yulgang a fair bit and it looks like a nice but simplistic MMORPG, before that it was Pristontale.

Also tried that euro flavoured one (grande espando or something similar) but didn't like it

All our free to play but if you buy a points card from 7-11 you can purchase more useful items
