An interesting tousle between two of Thailands favoured monopolistic companies. Both used to having little competition and I'm sure both with their powerful friends. That the AOT had the audacity to block off the entrance shows just how mighty they have become and I imagine it has been uniforms behind their power and business executives on the opposition. May be not over yet.

Guess money won over safety then.

I never did see any legitimate safety complaints. I seem to recall there were 6 safe concerns. Any one of them could be shot down with the wind from a toy drone.

Ok, please explain what the safety risks are of some low rise buildings near the airport, built within CAAT safety guidelines and approved at the planning stage.

How did money win over safety?  Would love to know what your insight is.  Please tell - I am sure it is something special.

And if you consider that a safety issue I guess we should flatten the terminal building, the Novotel, the ATC tower, all factories and warehouses in the vicinity, bridges, tollways etc.

Surprise, surprise, surprise!

Who would have thunk that the result would come down in favour of Central.

Who would have thought indeed that the group that built some low rise buildings, with proper permits and planning permission - that were not infringing on anything at all - would win the judgement.

I can imagine if the AOT had won you would be saying the same thing about it being a surprise that King Power had used their influence blah blah....

Don't shoot the messenger?

He advised me to use both legal and politicalprinciples to solve the problem, while thinking of the country’s benefits and aviation safety as top priorities.”
