No, that's the whole point of that argument.

Imagine for a second he would be elected. And then imagine he would shut down parliament for 5 weeks in a very critical time.

People would be on the streets to protest against that - just like now.

Any elected leader should be scrutinized by parliament.

Boris is scared of parliament. And for a reason. He should be scared!

It's only an extra 6 days, isn't it? Where do you get 5 weeks from?

My view is not on the right at all, read the banners, they have socialist workers party printed on them, I have a close relative who attends a lot of these marches, so I can speak from first hand expierience with this.

I think a good way to find out would be to talk to somebody who took part in one of the marches.

it would give you the firsthand experience of which you speak.

Well he is at a festival this weekend, as are presumably a lot of others who normally march, this is probably why there weren't so many protesters out and about for this.... one love

"Parliament was expected to take a break or "recess" anyway from roughly 13 September - 8 October.

Official dates for recess are not actually confirmed, so it is hard to have a definitive number on how many actual sitting days will be lost. However, in theory, it will be between three and eight parliamentary days."

"The Archbishop of Canterbury has called for Remainers to "stop whingeing" and accept the result of the Brexit referendum'.

The Most Rev Justin Welby said those who voted to stay in the EU must now "take seriously the fact that the majority voted Leave", stating: "We may not like it, but that is democracy."

For the first time in my life I agree with the Archbishop!

A man who believes in invisible spirits.

And of course it's not about prorogation, it's all about stopping Brexit, can you imagine if Dominic Grieve was the PM and he was going to prorogue parliament to help stop Brexit, the streets would be as empty as Leeds on New Years Day.

So, Brexiteers wouldn't protest at that? I can assure you that they would and it would be far less peaceful. Tommy Robinson's thug army would be out in droves.

A man who doesn't respect the fact that the majority of people who voted, voted in favour of leaving the EU, wants to tell us about democracy ????

Because of course democracy came to a shuddering halt on the morning of the referendum result.

Peaceful protest is part and parcel of the democratic process.
