Because guns are somehow like drugs, addictive, create a physiological dependency over which the gun owner has no control.

Or did you just assert a ridiculously false equivalency?!

Show us how to kill 5 people or more with a plastic fork

The gun toting Americans will just shrug their shoulders and make pathetic excuses as they always do.  There are Americans that care  but their voice will never be heard when you have a moron like Trump in the White House.  It has been said a thousand times before and will be said a thousand times again and still nothing will be done about it.

Give a man a fork and he eats dinner.  Give a man a gun and he will shoot something, whether on two legs or four.

Give a child a box of matches and he doesn't have to start a fire but matches have little else they can be used for, ditto a gun.

Not sure about saying all Americans are mentally ill though ????.  Certainly some are very stupid and childlike and surprisingly, good at making banal excuses rather than face reality.

It sounds like your another Trump hater and just don't know how the American laws work.

The Congress and states make laws,ask the previous POTUS,who happen to be inflicted with the same actions of sick people picking up guns and destroying other people ! What's your solution for my country other than blaming and violating every Americans rights

The 2nd amendment is not to blame. The NRA is not to blame. White supremacists are not to blame. Trump's divisive and hateful rhetoric is not to blame.

So, who is to blame? It was another crazy white American man, it appears. And who says white American men cannot be incredibly dangerous, and occasionally totally insane and fanatical? They scare me far more than any other race, or group when I am in the US. It appears that they commit a lot of these hate crimes, and random acts of mass killing.

But, the politicians and Trump will continue to drag their feet on deeper background checks, as they are bought and paid for by the NRA. We cannot upset a big sponsor, regardless of what they represent.

These mass shooting in my opinion, are symptomatic of the continued decline of the American empire, and the nearly bankrupt American culture. I say all of this as an American, so do not even consider calling me names. Let's leave that surly behavior to the white extremist men in America.

Get rid of the machine gun type guns. There is no need for them.

Do intensive background checks and longer cooling off period, mandatory training.

Would you think the same if a dozen muslims walked down the street with uzies?

Citizens right to live outweighs nutters rights to have access to killing machines.

Japan seems to have it just right.

Why are yanks so violent and so stupid they cant regulate gun violence to prevent frequent massacres and thousand of deaths a year from opioids. They seem to have no self control, like petulant ,violent children. If such an occurrence happened in Thailand this forum would be full of anti Thai race hate but I think the USA is more violent and chaotic than Thailand and even more corrupt.

There is no greater violation of a human's right than to arbitrarily slay them irrespective of whether they are man, woman or child. People should have the right not to live in fear of being slain. The 2nd amendment is just that..an AMENDMENT.  So re amend it to counter the sureal absurdity of people being imprisoned for drugs but allowed to terrorize society with ANY kind of gun. As long as the 2nd amendment exits America will be  a nation of stupid small people.

 Yea, it is a human thing.

It does not happen in most countries it seems to be uniquely American stupidity,  cowardly government and the kind of corruption that us usually associated with African Dictatorships. But its not just internal mass slaughter.  Dozens of countries around the world have suffered from the violence of the USA. Its a disease

Terrorists

More must die to see a change.  And it has to happen in close succession and large numbers-unfortunate as that may be.  Get big money out of politics

Completely untrue. Delusional. Factually incorrect. Name one country in the world which has mass shootings on a regular basis as does The United States of Armed Killers. Its a sick society.

I’m talking about mass murder, but it is a huge problem with guns in the USA.  The only guns should be hunting rifles

I know this topic is from an article on todays  "mass shooting" and the media love to focus on the U.S. but my gawd are you really unaware of the situation in Myanmar, Bangladesh, Mexico, Brazil, ...Southern Thailand? ... also single and double victim shooting numbers far outnumber the tiny number of "mass shootings" victims.  " the United States of armed killers"?  I pity you for you deranged thoughts.

The majority of Americans ( except the ones living in Thailand) want stricter gun control such as simple requirements: background checks before purchasing a weapon: people with mental health issues not being allowed to purchase a gun; no automatic “rifes” being sold that are really machine guns- not hunting rifles. But USA politicians, especially the Republicans,are  bribed ( they call it campaign donations) from the NRA and gun manufacturers. Yes, the USA also has a corrupt system.

Add to that the affect that scores of successive leaders whose only answer to everything that doesnt go their way  (ie "threatens American interests") is to bomb them back to the stone age killing thousands of innocents (ie "collateral damage") with scant regard and impunity.  Its no wonder some of its citizens behave in the same manner, just on a smaller scale.

There lay the crux of the problem.

28 people burned alive in a Mexican bar day before yesterday..

Reason:  Most probably gang and drug related therefore money;

"bombs killing hundreds at wedding parties in Afghanistan.. "

Reason:  Probably US drones or bombers hitting mistaken target (they have a long history of this...even bombing there own) Or possibly drug related with US knocking out the competition.....therefore money again;

Mass Shootings in the US

Reason:  none to be found!

As can be seen, there is a very big difference between your two examples and mass shootings in the US.

There is no comparison between war zones, military actions, gang violence etc. The USA is unique. Its virually the only country in the world were senseless acts of random violence occur frequently. If you are saying that the suburbs and cities and high schools of the USA are war zones, are in a state of insurrection,  insurgency and civil war why isnt the American military killing the insurgents in the cities? If you want to compare the USA to Rawnda go ahead be my guest. You are in denial and this state of mind directly contributes to the death of innocents. Until people like you stop making excuses the random blood letting will continue.

they need their guns to defend against the homeless and  immigrants
