How To View Jpegs & Mpegs On Television ?

Featured Replies

What conversion do I have to make and should I put Jpegs and Mpegs on separate disks? Can I use CDs as well as DVDs? Is the remote control set up for moving from one Jpeg, or Mpeg, to another? Thanks.

I use a software called PRO SHOW GOLD.

You just upload your pic's from what ever folder you keep the pic's in on your pc. Burn it and play it.

You do need a dvd player that will play dvd / cdr /cdrw .

It works great. I now have over 3 hours of Thailand pic's that I can show on the big screen.

My last trip to Puntip plaza I could not find anything like this. Lack of communication on my part.

I got mine off of a buddy.

a google search will probably help you find this software and were to buy it.

I not sure but I think the xp has a simular program on it.

I use a software called PRO SHOW GOLD.

Get it here http://www.photodex.com/products/proshowgold/ free trial but it costs 70 Bucks once the trial ends :o

For your mpegs I'd convert them to VCD (assuming your player plays VCD) less hassle than DVD (IMHO). Have a look at http://www.videohelp.com/ all sorts of guides and software to assist :D

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Not sure about your player, but my el-cheapo model recognizes jpeg files burned straight on a disc, even if they are in folders and subfolders.

I can get the player to play them as a slideshow, or it can show me thumbnails through which I can browse using the remote.

Only drawback is that 5 megapixels pics load quite slow.

If you have a program to batch-resize your pictures, bring them all down to 500X375 pixels and burn on a CD-rom... A regular dvd/TV combo can't show higher resolutions anyway...

Same with mine (Pioneer) and it's about 2 years old. However I did specifically select the model for the flexibility in media type.

Picasa (free) can also produce slideshow CD's > http://picasa.google.com/help/userguide_organize.html

I take images from my computer and put the images on a Sony Memory Stick. My Sony camera has a cord that plugs into the TV. It works pretty well.

Nero. Specifically Nero Vision (included in the Nero Suite) will allow you to author a slide show that plays on a VCD or DVD. You can add both MPEG and JPG files as it converts the JPG files into one MPEG file that plays like a movie. Add music, titles, transitions (disolves / wipes / effects) between each picture, etc, etc..
